Alexa Chung (born 5 November 1983) is a British writer, host, model, and fashion designer. She has authored the books It (2013) and it: Über Style (2014), and has launched her eponymous fashion brand in May 2017.
Born in Privett, Hampshire, Chung is the daughter of Gillian and Phillip Chung. Her father is of three quarters Chinese ancestry, while her mother is of English descent. Chung attended secondary school at the local Perins School and spent sixth form at Peter Symonds College, Winchester. She was accepted at King’s College London to study English, but was scouted by a modelling agency before attending.
Chung lived with fashion photographer David Titlow, twenty years her senior, for three and a half years from 2003 to 2006. She was in a four-year relationship with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner from July 2007 until July 2011; they lived together in London and later New York. In a 2013 interview, Chung stated that Turner remained her “best friend.” The former couple were seen together on a number of occasions in 2014. Chung was in a relationship with actor Alexander Skarsgård from 2015 until July 2017.
Chung purchased an apartment in New York City’s East Village in 2011. In 2016, she returned to London to launch a clothes label.
She shared a graphic on Instagram which included the words “vote Labour for our future. For the NHS hospital I was born in and the comprehensive school I attended. For the many, not the few.”
